Documenting a Major Construction Project from Start to Finish
A mammoth project! It's difficult to appreciate the sheer scale of a construction or installation project without documenting the process as it unfolds. We were commissioned to capture this major development through regular photography, video production and time-lapse footage, creating a comprehensive visual record of the work from the early stages through to completion.
We visited the site once a fortnight, capturing progress across both the internal and external areas. Working closely with the client and site manager via email, we coordinated each visit to make sure key milestones and pivotal moments were captured at the right time. Across fourteen visits, we documented the transformation as it progressed, providing a detailed overview of the work involved and the many stages required to bring the project to life.
Alongside the regular photography and video, we managed and produced multiple time-lapse sequences, sometimes operating four or five cameras on site simultaneously. One of our highlights was capturing the installation of the enormous warehouse racking, which was perfectly suited to time-lapse filming. Watching such a large-scale installation take shape over time really demonstrated the value of this approach and the incredible amount of work involved.
Following each visit, we supplied updated photography and video for the client to share internally with employees and externally across their marketing channels. We also produced a final video bringing the entire project together, creating a compelling overview of the development from start to finish. We loved working on this project and capturing the scale, complexity and hard work behind such a significant undertaking.
